autumn nature table & september circle...

with september comes our autumn nature tableau...

as well as a new circle time...
we'll actually be keeping a few of our august verses as they are still relevant to our current lessons...
these are:
*"awake", this one we keep always...
*"brave & true"
*2's times tables verse
*"in the woods"
to these we add...
(if you know the name/author for these verses, please do let me know. i would love to give credit where credit is due...we have used a lot of these verses from the beginning & i honestly just don't remember where i got them)
"harvest" (?)
"now all the farmers from far and wide
have gathered bounty from countryside
corn & barley from field & wold
honey from beehive & wool from fold
fruit from the orchard, ripe red & gold
and logs for the fire to keep out the cold"
"the lion", anonymous
king of the beats, the lion
has velvet-padded paws
majestic mane to crown his head
and strong & cavernous jaws
the lioness is hunter
the cubs in shelter hide
the mighty male remains
protector of the pride"

michaelemas

(adapted to fit the tune of "the ants go marching")

"the autumn winds blow open the gate (hurrah! hurrah!)

brave st. michael for you we wait (hurrah! hurrah!)

we follow you, show us the way

with joy we greet this autumn day

and we all say good morning, good morning, good morning

the silver rain, the shining sun (hurrah! hurrah!)

the fields where scarlet poppies run (hurrah! hurrah!)

the fallen leaves blow up & away

with joy we greet this autumn day

and we all say good morning, good morning, good morning

"image"

there lives in my an image

of all that i can be

until i have become it

my heart cannot be free
